Wonders of the Nile ‘The Long Cruise from Cairo’

Riviera Travel has added a couple of exciting new options to cruise along the River Nile from Cairo in 2018, on the 5 star MS Darakum. Take a look below at just what is included, and then call Ian at Nile Cruises with GoCruise on 01455821770 or 08002922850 to book your cruise, or to get further details.

The 5 star MS Darakum, which is managed by Movenpick, has just 52 cabins and suites. The lead-in prices are for a cabin on the lower deck, but you upgrade for a supplement to a main deck or upper deck cabin, or even to a Senior Suite or a Panorama Suite. All cabins and suites include air conditioning, hairdryer, safe, fridge and TV, as well as tea & coffee making facilities.

While relaxing onboard you can make use of the sundeck, plunge pool and lounge. Evening entertainment can include a belly dancer, music, and a traditional Galabiya party.

Both itineraries will include all of the following in the price paid: –

  • Return scheduled flights with EgyptAir
  • Resort transfers
  • All meals and complimentary tea and coffee, while onboard
  • 14 or 10 nights onboard with a river view cabin
  • Experienced guide on all of the included excursions

If you haven’t been on a Nile cruise before, I would definitely recommend doing the longer itinerary, as you will get to see so many more ancient sites from Luxor to Aswan. This video, which was taken by me, includes the Temple of Luxor, the Temple of Karnak, Howard Carter’s House, and the replica of King Tut’s tomb, which are all included on this 15 day (14 night) itinerary.

Egyptian Visa – all British passport holders will need to purchase an Egyptian visa, and while it can be obtained from the Egyptian Consulate in London before purchase, it is far easier to get it when you arrive at Cairo airport. At the time of posting the cost is £20pp, but this is of course subject to change at any time. You will need at least one blank page in your passport, which must have at least 6 months validity at the end of your holiday.

All prices are per person, based on two people sharing a cabin, and correct at the time of posting, however prices could increase over time. Itineraries can also be amended or withdrawn by the tour operator at any time without notice. Therefore to get an up to date check on availability and price, call Ian on 01455821770 or 08002922850.
