Ian Warren

I went to sea as a 16 year old, working as a steward on the Union Castle Line, so my love of the sea goes back a long time, although I never started cruising until 1997. I have now cruised well over 20 times, with Thomson, Airtours, Costa, Festival, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Cunard, P&O, NCL, Fred Olsen, Louis Cruises, MSC, Cruise & Maritime, Viking River Cruises and Presidential Nile Cruises.

In order to build on my cruise experiences, and broaden my general knowledge of the different cruise lines, I also make a point of visiting ships when I can. This is usually for half a day, and often includes lunch, so that I can get a good feel for the ship and the standard of the food served. I have visited ships belonging to Crystal, Silversea, Regent Seven Seas, Holland America Line, Oceania, Seabourn, Star Clipper, Discover Egypt, as well as other ships from the companies I have already cruised with.

Although most of my cruising experience has been on ocean liners, I wanted to specialise in Nile cruises, so in January 2011 I went on a Nile cruise myself, and it surpassed all of my expectations. The excursions which were included in the cost of the cruise really were well worth going on, and the excellent Egyptologists seemed to bring everything to life, and made it all interesting. Although I was on one of the Presidential Nile Cruise boats, I made a point of visiting 6 other boats while I was in Luxor and Aswan.

This broad spectrum of experience puts me in the ideal position to help ensure that when I book you a cruise it will be on the right ship for you.
